Restaurants & Cafe's
In Bansko almost every other house in the old town has had part of its ground floor converted into a local eating place which are called a Mehana. Many of these have real character and retain a great atmosphere. The food is usually freshly prepared and also very reasonable in terms of cost. As usual it is a mixture of meat dishes with plenty of different salads to choose from. The local wine (if you choose red) and beer are both great with Beer costing from 2.5 lev for half a liter and a bottle of wine costing around 10 to 20lev. In Bansko I a bottle of Mavrud cost 12 lev in a Mehana in Bansko , whilst in Sunny Beach it cost 20 lev.
Skiing
If possible it is best to book your lift passes before you get there, or once there you can get them via a ticket booth which will take credit cards. For passes that cover a period longer then three days you will need a photograph. A 3 day pass will cost around 150 lev for an adult. If you plan to have ski lesson or hire equipment again we would recommend hiring this before your holiday.
Shopping
You will find a huge variety of shops in and around Bansko, selling the souvenirs, designer clothes , ski equipment , with the majority being small family run affairs. The usual opening hours are from 9AM to 8PM. In case you want a quite night in and do your own cooking there are several supermarkets close to the apartments selling a good range of groceries.
Golf
If you like you can take a break from skiing and play a few round of golf. The near by facility is world class and was designed by Ian Woosman. The 18 hole course is sprawled over a vast sway of land covering almost 300 acres .The course with its back drop of the mountains and diversity makes for an memorable day out . There are the standard challenges, such as water and rolling hills so even experienced golfers will find it challenging.
